Time remaining till my ARRIVAL in SWITZERLAND

a whole different world

Bienvenido en Puerto Rico - Parte de los Estados Unidos

and that is exactely how it looks like, so much like the United States. Only seeing the cars on the streets I realized that I'm in a whole different world then what I was used to from Latin America. There are only new, big and shiny cars. No more cars that almost fall apart.... :-(
And the prices are also a different story! Everything is so damn expensive!! No more sleeping for $ 3 a night... :-(
Since I came here pretty much to visit my dear friends Damaris and Laura who I've met 3 years ago at AXLDS in Venezuela I was supposed to stay at her place which was impossible do to some family issues that she is facing at the moment.
But Jaco, an AIESEC Trainee who lives in a flat with Dean was kind enough to offer me a place to stay!
MI CASA ES TU CASA, that's what they told me so I can use their television, Internet, laundry just everything for free!! That is really amazing and I apretiate that from the bottom of my heart my friends. Otherwise I would have had to change my flight...

Puerto Rico as such is really beautiful, the beach is amazing and at nights we are always up for something! Great fun to be here and I just enjoy the last days of my holidays!!

check out the pictures of my awesome time in Puerto Rico

on one side I'm sad to leave Latin America, to get further away from the county and my friends that got so much into my heart - Ecuador and it's people

on the other side I'm definately looking forward to be home soon!
SI, FALTAN SOLAMENTE UNOS POCOS DIAS

JUST A FEW DAYS ARE MISSING TILL I CATCH MY FLIGHT AND WILL BE HOME
WEDNESDAY THE 22ND OF AUGUST AT 8.40 A.M.

HOME SWEET HOME I'M COMING

PARA TI

me siento triste por alejarme de ti
me siento vacio xq tu cercania me falta
quiero estar contigo
compartiendo el ahora
cierro mis ojos y te siento cerca
mi corazon se llena con una sensacion
es este sentimiento q se llama amor
lo q siento PARA TI

lo q hay de Guate

Our first destination in Guatemala was FLORES, a beautiful little place where we had dinner at the lake side the full moon lightening up the night. It was spectacular and so beautiful…
From there we went to see TIKAL, a world heritage MAYAN site. To see all the temples and huge buildings that this folk built was totally impressive.

From there we headed to ANTIGUA and went to see Vulcan Pacaya, which is still active and we got to see real lava. The pure lava streams stopped just 8 days before we got there, which was a pity.
But still to be so close to the power and force of nature was absolutely stunning!

On Sunday it hit Barbara and me really hard when we had to say, “nos vemos en Suiza” at the airport of Guatemala City. My great travel buddy had to go back home, after four weeks of great travel experiences, wonderful moments, lots of talks and laughter.
It was so great having seen Central America with you my beloved little big sister! Thank you for your company and everything! I LOVE YOU

Missing my best one I went to Panajachel (everybody just calls it Pana) at the lake of Atilan where I did a boat trip around the lake to see different villages and the traditional way of life. San Marcos is famous to be a spiritual place where I got the pleasure of getting a massage and concentrate on my body and spirit…
I went to Chichi for the local market and now I am in Guatemala City where I caught up with my friends from AIESEC.

During all this time I have been spending a lot of time in internet cafes to find a good internship experience. I’m so excited and just hope everything turns out the way I plan…

Days in Honduras

Unique in the world and the ultimate fun:
VOLCANO BOARDING
After hiking up Volcano Cerro Negro we jumped on our boards riding down the stony hill with up to 60 km/h!
My dear sister was so afraid beforehand but just as excited as I was afterwards!

Then I went DIVING in Utila, Bay Islands in Honduras where the second largest barrier reef, right after the “Great Barrier Reef” in Australia is found. Went down to see a wreck for the first time since I dive.
Just missed my Dad since he has shown me the passion for the under water world and always been my dive buddy so far.

The next adventure thing we did was WHITE WATER RAFTING in “La Ceiba” Honduras. Barbara was also a bit scared before boating down “el rio cangrejal” (Bunny River) but even stated later on whenever the current wasn’t so strong that it was quite chill. Another highlight was my jump from a rock of about 8m height and letting myself fload down the raft.

Last but not least we visited “Copan Ruinas” a by the UNESCO declared world heritage site. Seeing this Mayan ruins and getting to know how they used to live was absolutely amazing.

Something funny to share is the saying of the day:
When you travel you loose a lot of time travelling!

Have you known that:

  • The ATM’s are always out of money when you desperately need them
  • If you are hungry you even have to wait longer for the food
  • You don’t have to pay the borders even if they ask you to...
  • There are no more chickens in the “chicken busses” because they are too crowded with people (24 people in a mini van)
  • Sand flies sting harder then mosquitos
  • Maya means: I don’t know
  • Although we are in the wet season it happens that there is no water

And there are a lot more PICTURES for you to visit, CLICK HERE
