Transition time

Long time no blogging, I know and I’m sorry about it but lately it was extremely hectic in my life – as always, that’s right. But let me give you a short explanation of the reasons:

First of all we are in transition – the official handover from the outgoing to the incoming MC team, doing sessions and assuring the best possible knowledge management which obviously takes a lot of time.

Besides the MC is in the middle of the NSM (National Strategic Meeting) preparation and since it’s our last conference we really want to rock it – one more – one last time! What took me the most time was the preparation of the MC video about our term, put a lot of effort and love in it – you will see. After the conference I’m going to upload it but till Thursday where the new team officially gets elected it’s a surprise :-)

And besides we were busy with all the “normal” work that was still to do and more than that, things as annual reports and final evaluations, you know.
So far about my work…

...which actually took so much time that my private life suffered a little bit. Just managed to see Spiderman 3, the pirates are still missing jejejeje, and dancing classes got dropped totally. But Tania and me celebrated our birthday and enjoyed a great time together. Thank you my Sweetheart!

And last Thursday we left to Atacames – one of our last journeys if not the last one with our travel buddies :-(
It was a great weekend with lots of fun and great parties that started already in the afternoon because it was all foggy and there was no sun… And since the bars are right at the beach in Atacames it’s kind of a beachparty in the afternoon… jejejeje
Was a great trip and lots of fun!!!

Tonight I’m heading off to Quito for our last conference which I will live to the maximum and with quite strange feelings. It’s strange seeing the end of the year of my lifetime so close, IT’S JUST WEIRD but yeah, that has to be another post…

catching up

Here we go with the proof of something I always say: it’s never a goodbye but always a catch u later!

Liz (the girl with the blue shirt) and I got to know each other down under in Australia in the year 2002, in 2003 Liz came to Switzerland and now in 2007 – after 4 years we caught up in Ecuador!
If you travel the world you find out how small it is!
And especially how cool it is to meet up with old friends! Was really great having you here chicky babe, I enjoyed a lot and it was great fun!
See the lovely bag she gave me? It’s real leather from La Paz, Bolivia! That’s so nice my dear, I just love it! And my mum will love it too, since mine here is pretty broke...

Keep dancing Latin music and enjoying yourself just as you guys did the night we went out in Guayaquil. Enjoy the jungle and take good care of yourself!
See you back in Europe or Asia – but we will catch up again!

following some Inca tracks

After the conference in Lima I went off to explore the city! On Monday night we went to Bierhaus, a famous disco down town, was good fun with all the guys from AIESEC.
Lima is really impressive, so huge with its 9 million habitants. They tried to rob me but nothing happened, don’t worry. Thank you very much to Davo my good old friend who showed me around on Tuesday.

Aca las fotos de Lima

Tuesday night a 14 hours bus ride to Arequipa with my Brazilian travel buddy Isabel who did a CEED in Arequipa for 2 months and kind of went back home and introduced me to the live in this beautiful and relaxed city.

On the same day travel to Cusco, main centre of the Incas for hundreds of years till the Spanish conquistadors arrived. To see all the Inca ruins was really impressive. Just imagine that they carried stones of hundreds of tons over really long distances just with the force of human beings, since their known animals (lamas and apacas) can’t carry big weights. To see their architecture where they put stones upon stones without the usage of anything was really impressive too.

This is the face of the Inca that they made on the rock... Imagine doing them without any tecnology, nothing...

To sum it up the whole journey was amazing, absolutely wonderful and impressive and totally worth the money and time I’ve spent for it!

For sure I’ve voted for Machu Picchu to become a new world wonder.
But let’s the pictures speak, check them out here!

Matchu Picchu HERE I COME

I’m so excited! After a 10 hours bus ride I arrived in Cusco (Peru). It’s a really beautiful city, very antique and with it’s traditional style just wonderful to explore.
For tomorrow we got a 4 hours horseback ride booked. It’s gonna be funny, since I don’t really know how to ride a horse but they say that’s no problem. I’m actually really looking forward to my cowboy experience.
In the afternoon we’re visiting 4 ruins around Cusco.

Saturday we’ll go to Matchu Picchu!! Jejeje, how cool is that?! Matchu Picchu is on the list to be voted for as one of the 7 new world wonders. Go and check out this link to give your vote:

Wow, I’m so excited and so much looking forward to all this great trips.
You’ll be with me my friends!
Take good care of yourself and stay updated for the amazing pics that gonna be uploaded soon, right on this spot. Jejejee
