Days in Honduras

Unique in the world and the ultimate fun:
VOLCANO BOARDING
After hiking up Volcano Cerro Negro we jumped on our boards riding down the stony hill with up to 60 km/h!
My dear sister was so afraid beforehand but just as excited as I was afterwards!

Then I went DIVING in Utila, Bay Islands in Honduras where the second largest barrier reef, right after the “Great Barrier Reef” in Australia is found. Went down to see a wreck for the first time since I dive.
Just missed my Dad since he has shown me the passion for the under water world and always been my dive buddy so far.

The next adventure thing we did was WHITE WATER RAFTING in “La Ceiba” Honduras. Barbara was also a bit scared before boating down “el rio cangrejal” (Bunny River) but even stated later on whenever the current wasn’t so strong that it was quite chill. Another highlight was my jump from a rock of about 8m height and letting myself fload down the raft.
Last but not least we visited “Copan Ruinas” a by the UNESCO declared world heritage site. Seeing this Mayan ruins and getting to know how they used to live was absolutely amazing.
Something funny to share is the saying of the day:
When you travel you loose a lot of time travelling!
Have you known that:
- The ATM’s are always out of money when you desperately need them
- If you are hungry you even have to wait longer for the food
- You don’t have to pay the borders even if they ask you to...
- There are no more chickens in the “chicken busses” because they are too crowded with people (24 people in a mini van)
- Sand flies sting harder then mosquitos
- Maya means: I don’t know
- Although we are in the wet season it happens that there is no water
