Felicitaciones a la generacion de "LOS SOBREVIVIENTES" de SDL 2007 en Guayaquil

Hearty congratulation to the generation of “los sobrevivientes” of the SDL 2007 in Guayaquil.

Leaving a conference is always somehting special to me. I do so with lots of feelings, impressions, successes, points to improve but on top of it lots of motivation, the spirit and drive I felt during the event. SDL had it all and I feel so proud of the new generation: THE SURVIVERS as they call themselves.
Why?
Because they did it all, they survived the special lunch, took full advantage of all the sessions and got the motivation to go out there and make a positive impact on society because they feel as the change agents of their generation.


My personal biggest learning point is that I have to focus much more on delegate's satisfaction than on my personal satisfaction. The difference lies in the fact that I as conference manager and facilitator knew how the things were planned and that not everything turned out as planned, that there were lots of challenges, changes in the agenda and so on. But most of that stuff happened in the background and was not visible to the delegates who just saw how the session were delivered and performed.
The fact that they all left very motivated shows me that I don’t have to worry too much about the sessions that were planned differently for not to say better than they turned out but rather focus on how it came across to the people.
And the fact that I got elected as THE BEST FACILITATOR makes me happy and I feel proud about it.

With lots of learning points in mind I can say: IT WAS A BIG SUCCESS
And I’m really proud of the new generation!

Another thing that I have as learning point is not involving the same person in more than one conference. Being involved in three different events at the same weekend was just too much and I couldn’t do it all the way I wanted.
I was so bloody tired after the conference so that I slept 13 hours from Sunday to Monday.
Though, now I feel fully recovered and ready for my next great upcoming opportunity:
Chairing NatCo (National Conference) in Lima/Peru.
